Life changes,
years pass quickly.
Walk on sandy Florida beach
soon to be on sidewalk
of familiar Ohio city

Ocean waves goodbye
Roaring its applause.
Sea birds tweet farewell songs
Boats parade with banners flying
Friends come to visit.
Busy, colorful, noisy, sad
happy preparation time.

Discovery's Farewell (called a Fly By)

An era in space travel has come to an end.
DISCOVERY, a major space travel vehicle
which flew from Canaveral Space Port,
gave Atlantic coast dwellers a thrill today!

We received a farewell early this morning
as it flew by going South, carried on top of a
huge transport plane. Then seen a second time
as it passed one more time on its return.

What a pleasure and joy to view!

Full Moon

Huge golden round ball
hanging in the sky;
a man in the moon
looking down upon us all.

God's wonderful creation
beautifies our night;
sailors, sodiers, shepherds, and more
receive tremendous delight.

A gift for the world,
earth spinning on its axis,
all in turn may enjoy
this gorgeous sight.

Thank you Lord for day and night:
calming ocean, golden full moon
sights and sounds.
What a pleasure to enjoy!

The Beauty of Morning

The beauty of morning
with red orange at horizon
gives promise
a rising sun will follow.
Gray clouds
allow glimpse of sunlight above.
White foamy waves
move westward toward sandy shore,
the lovely beach
just below my balcony.

All give promise for the next hours!
Yes, another delightful day.
Thank you, Lord for beauty and hope.

A usual male runner enters the scene,
elbows bent and arms swinging.
He quickly moves beyond my view.
Two women rapidly do the same.

Hans sits beside me watching the scene.
His head moves quickly back and forth
while catching glimpse of birds in flight.

My "kitty cats" love this activity.
We marvelously have an eye-level view.
Fritz arrives to greet Morning with us.
His usual "meow"
calls forth a cupped-hand nose nuzzle,
a special joy of his each morning.
He then settles in at my feet
to continue to absorb the exciting scene.
This household of three is now awake
and accounted for.
Oh happy day!

As Evening Turns to Night

As evening turns to night,
darkness
surrounds a beautiful golden full moon.
At this moment it makes possible a discovery,
seeing a man in the moon.

These beautiful strains of moonlight
floating upon a rippling ocean
gently find their way to shore:
a delightful sandy beach,
my front yard,
twelve stories below..

What a joy to view such a calming scene,
wonderful way to relax and dream
at the close of a day.
